This FAA-approved Part 141 program encompasses the ground and practical training needed to earn your Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI) and your Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII).
Scholarships available
The EXCEL Scholarship rewards student performance by covering the cost of advanced training - the Multi-Engine Add-On.
Awarded to the highest performing students based on Ground School exam results, Checkride performance and Instructor feedback, the Scholarship recognizes effort, discipline, and excellence and is designed to reduce the financial burden of advanced training and fast-track the highest performers toward Certified Flight Instructor roles.

Our AAPT program is designed to provide the training needed to become a Flight Instructor.
- Private Pilot (PPL).
- Instrument Rating (IR).
- Commercial Single-Engine (CSEL).
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).
- Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII).
- Ground School training as a combination of hybrid and in-person learning.

AAPT graduates are guaranteed an interview for a CFI position but may be required to complete their Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) before instructing.

What's next with the AAPT program
After completing the AAPT program, you will be a qualified Certified Flight Instructor (CFI). It’s now time to build your FAA 1,500 flight hours, which you can do with us while earning a salary as a Flight Instructor. Then you’re ready to join the airlines through one of our many Pilot Pathway programs.
Your pathway to becoming a pilot:
- Complete the AAPT program and earn your Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and CFI - Instrument (CFII) Certificate.
- Prepare your resume and schedule your initial instructor interview with the support of our Career Services team.
- Meet hiring airline partners that regularly visit and recruit our cadets at our Sanford, Florida campus.
- Apply for a scholarship to earn your Commercial Multi-Engine Add-on Rating, which is required before you progress to the airlines.
- Join a Pilot Pathway and seamlessly transition into your pilot career with one of our regional airline partners, many of whom offer tuition reimbursement, sign-on bonus opportunities, or incentives during training like seniority.

- Deposit of $10,000 followed by five further installments
- Includes Private Pilot License (if you already have this certificate, you can join the AAPT for a reduced rate, request info for more details).
*Program includes hours required to exceed the minimum FAA hours required for each rating. Extra hours are built in to assist with gaining proficiency; however, flight training is a skill, and time to train and cost are based on individual progress.
