As a commercial airline pilot working from a regional or major airline you can expect to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Commercial pilots are responsible for navigating and flying passengers and cargo planes from A to B safely and efficiently.

You will be responsible for:

• Performing pre-and-post-flight aircraft inspections

• Planning and selecting safe flight routes with First Officers

• Identifying and problem-solving risks that may occur

• Keeping accurate records for compliance reasons

• Communicating with air traffic control regarding the flight plan, air traffic, weather and other external factors which may impact the flight

• Monitoring aircraft engines, fuel levels, and aircraft systems

• Flying the aircraft using visual flight rules and instruments

We offer assistance with housing/accommodation on campus and in the surrounding area for those who qualify. Accommodation is typically a shared basis and provides bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities. Many of our student pilots choose to source their own accommodation during training.

The Student Services Department and Office of Student Affairs mentor and advise its students regarding student life at the Academy. The team provides assistance with orientation, student activities, housing, transportation, graduation, and career services. With student advisement, the team works with the student and resources on and off campus to develop a plan of action for a resolution.

The Office of Student Affairs assists with monitoring of student progress, the Code of Conduct, and customer satisfaction to include the complaint policy. The team’s goal is for the success, health, and safety of each Acron Aviation Academy student.

The Acron Aviation Academy is located at Orlando Sanford International Airport, Florida. Our location means students get real life experience of a busy airport environment and gain valuable experience of flying in Class C airspace with two-way communication with an operational air traffic control (ATC) tower.
