On Wednesday May 1, 2024, we welcomed Korea Aerospace University (KAU) to our Florida campus to celebrate the extension of the pilot training agreement between the two organizations.

The agreement builds on the long-term training partnership between the two which began in 2018. Working alongside the university, Acron Aviation Academy tailors its training program to meet the requirements of KAU to ensure a pipeline of highly skilled pilots for the South Korean aviation industry.

“This agreement shows the confidence KAU has in the quality of our training capabilities,” said David Cox, Director, Airline Academy, Acron Aviation. “We have a proven track record when it comes to training highly competent airline pilots and welcome the opportunity to build on the current relationship with one of South Korea’s foremost aviation institutions.”

For the first intake of KAU students for 2024, selection will start from May in Korea, with students then arriving in Sanford to start their flight training journey. Further classes are expected throughout the year.

"The aviation industry in South Korea has recovered to pre-COVID levels, and it is expected that demand for pilots will significantly increase in the near future. Korea Aerospace University (KAU) has been playing a pivotal role in training pilots in South Korea since 1952 and will continue to do so to meet future industry demand,” said Dr. Hee-Young Hurr, President of Korea Aerospace University.

“In this regard we have extended our partnership with one of the world’s leading pilot training providers. They offer our students the latest aircraft and state-of-the-art simulators and also provide an advanced flight training curriculum, safety management and quality management capabilities. This partnership dates back to 2018 and its continuation means KAU will continue to be at the forefront of South Korea’s aviation industry, known as an educational institution that trains highly-skilled pilots."
