Flight training to degree: Leverage Acron Aviation to jumpstart your career
For aspiring pilots, combining professional flight training with a college degree is not only possible but also highly advantageous. Not only does Acron Aviation offer the opportunity to become a commercial pilot, but it's also a way to accelerate completion of a college degree.
Why pair flight training with a degree?
Numerous colleges recognize FAA certificates as valid academic credits. In fact, many institutions offer up to 45 semester hours of credit based on FAA licensure, potentially eliminating up to 18 months of traditional coursework.
This approach shows that all the hard work of FAA training for a year is also valuable toward an associate or bachelor degree. Getting a jumpstart means graduating sooner and earning money earlier with less coursework needed later.
Flight training also looks great on paper. You’ll have the necessary skills and proof of the effort you made to brand yourself professionally. Plus, this streamlined pathway may not require SAT scores, making it even easier to begin your academic and aviation journey without the barriers of standardized testing.
How Acron Aviation’s articulation agreements turn cockpit hours into college credits
An articulation agreement is a type of formal agreement established between Acron Aviation and partner colleges or universities that allows Acron Aviation to translate FAA pilot certifications into college credits. Essentially, it means that all of the hard work you spend in the sky becomes college credits, setting you towards a degree much faster and less expensively.
At Acron Aviation, once our students complete their pilot degree program, they receive about 18 months' worth of college credit for flight training. These credits transfer to many degrees, allowing you to earn a degree sooner and at a lesser cost than the traditional path.
Financial advantage: Bright Futures and Acron Aviation transfer credit
Florida residents may be able to take advantage of free tuition opportunities when earning a degree. By providing 100% tuition, the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship is one of the best opportunities to help pay for college for qualified students. Florida Academic Scholars can expect about $212 per credit hour, and Florida Medallion Scholars can expect about $160 per credit hour.
Combined with the college credit for flight training from Acron Aviation's articulation agreements, students may only pay about $4,000 after completing flight training to earn their degree. This unprecedented access takes financial strain off many, making higher education a feasible option for those previously on a path to an aviation career.
