The world-leading airline academy, headquartered in Sanford, Florida, is awarding $20,000 of scholarship funding to help aspiring pilots take their first step toward a career as an aviator.
To celebrate 40 years at the forefront of pilot training, Acron Aviation Academy is offering $20,000 in scholarship awards to kickstart the careers of aspiring pilots.
The scholarships are open to all U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Applications must be submitted on or before December 15, 2025 and students must begin their training any month between January and June of 2026.
“We are proud to offer these scholarships to help fuel the next generation of pilots,” said David Cox, Director of Acron Aviation Academy. “We have a long and proud history here in Central Florida. Today, the academy stands as a premier provider of aviation training and technology, continuing a legacy of excellence that began nearly four decades ago.”
Acron Aviation Academy’s roots date back to 1986, when it was known as Delta Connection Academy following its acquisition by Comair.
Over the decades the Academy evolved through several transformative eras, and in 2025 entered a new chapter as Acron Aviation Academy following the acquisition of L3Harris Airline Academy by private equity firm TJC LP.
Throughout its history, the academy has trained thousands of pilots across Federal Aviation Administration, UK Civil Aviation Authority, Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Japan Civil Aviation Bureau pathways. It has strong relationships with global airlines such as Delta, American and United as well as cargo carriers such as FedEx, creating clear pathways to future employment.
